Police were dispatched by Dutchess County 911 on Saturday at 8:45 a.m. to a residence in the Village of Red Hook for a report of a 20-year-old male who was unresponsive and not breathing from an apparent drug overdose.

Upon arrival, police located the male victim on the floor and unresponsive, Red Hook police said.

A Red Hook police officer and a New York State Trooper administered two dosages of Narcan which restored the victim's breathing causing him to regain consciousness.

The victim was subsequently transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital by Northern Dutchess Paramedics for further treatment.
