Troopers were dispatched on Wednesday to a domestic dispute on West Kerley Corners Road. The investigation indicated that Joseph R. Pasqualina of Red Hook violated a court order of protection by engaging in a physical altercation with the protected party, police said. When the victim attempted to call 911 for police assistance, Pasqualina broke the phone preventing a call for help and fled prior to police arriving on scene, police said.

Several hours later, Pasqualina turned himself over to the state police. He was arraigned in the Village of Red Hook Court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail without bail. Pasqualina is due to reappear in the Town of Red Hook Court on Monday, Aug. 21.

Pasqualina was charged with criminal contempt (a Class E felony) and criminal mischief, a Class A misdemeanor.
