Police Search For Woman Accused Of Cashing Forged Checks In Pleasant Valley

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- New York State Police are asking for the public's help in locating a woman wanted for cashing forged checks in Pleasant Valley last year.

Stephanie  Sharps, 26, is wanted by both the state police and the Town of Pleasant Valley Court after she failed to show up in court on charges of criminal possession of a forged instrument and grand larceny, state police said.

Sharps, who is described as being 5-foot-4, 110 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes, is accused of cashing forged checks at two Dutchess County bank branches, state police said.

She is known to frequent the Poughkeepsie and Pleasant Valley areas.
