City of Poughkeepsie Police Chief Tom Pape, Mayor Rob Rolison, and New York State Sen. Sue Serino announced the “roll-out” of the Ford Explorer SUV's Tuesday.

The vehicles were purchased in part by a grant obtained through the Department of Criminal Justice Services and secured by Serino.

“We are very grateful for the assistance Senator Serino has provided to us in purchasing and outfitting these 4 brand new vehicles,” said Rolison.

The vehicles are an officer's "office" for the day, and they need to be safe and reliable, said Chief Pape,

“Our local law enforcement goes above and beyond to keep our community safe, and I am proud to have the opportunity to help deliver funding that will provide them with additional resources they need to perform their critical duties,” said Serino.
