Police: Pleasant Valley Man Who Failed To Stop For Fallen Tree Had Cocaine

PLEASANT VALLEY, N.Y. -- A Pleasant Valley man who failed to stop for trooper's removing a tree in the roadway on Thursday, found himself in jail when he threw a plastic bag of cocaine out the window when caught by troopers, according to New York State Police.

Bryan K. Roe, 26, was arrested around 1 a.m. when he failed to stop as directed on Route 82, instead, hitting the tree and racing away, state police said.

Troopers located Roe on Sisters Hill Road and while making the traffic stop saw him throw a plastic bag out of the driver's side window. An investigation revealed that the bag contained cocaine, state police said.

Roe was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.

He is being held in the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. He is due to appear in the Town of Stanford Court at a later date.
