An investigation indicated that Kaila M. Royster of Hyde Park certified weekly between April of 2014 and October of 2014 that she was unemployed when in fact she was gainfully employed, state police said.

Royster was charged with falsifying business records in the first degree and offering a false instrument for filing, both Class E felonies.

The New York State Police were assisted by the New York State Department of Labor.

Royster was released with an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Hyde Park court on Aug. 10.
