Pleasant Valley Worker Stole Lotto Tickets, Cash From Employer, Police Say

PLEASANT VALLEY, N.Y. -- A local woman who works at the Brennan's Supermarket in Pleasant Valley has been charged with allegedly stealing cash and Lotto tickets from the store, New York State Police said.

Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Laura Ann Bednarczuk, 21, charging her with third-degree grand larceny, a class D felony, according to police.

Troopers were called to Brennan’s Supermarket in September to investigate the alleged larceny, police said. 

It was reported that an employee had stolen over $3,000 worth of cash and scratch off lotto tickets from the store between March of 2015 and September of 2015, according to police.

Bednarczuk was arraigned in Pleasant Valley court and taken to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond, said police.

She is scheduled to return to the Pleasant Valley Justice Court Jan. 21, according to police.
