DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - The Poughkeepsie Journal has released an investigation in which it found two dozen cases locally and 175 cases statewide where inmates said they were beaten by corrections officers received money from the state in lawsuit settlements.
Inmates from prisons, like Sing Sing, have received payments from the state following lawsuits about corrections officers beating them.
