Dating back to Dec. 15, New York State Police and local law enforcement agencies say they've been “out in full force” to curtail impaired drivers in the region.
On Thursday night, State Police troopers stopped Middletown resident Darla Krzyak, 73, on I-84 in Montgomery for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Further investigation into the stop determined that Krzyak was impaired by alcohol and she was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Other arrests were made by State Police in Ellenville and Highland. Each of the motorists are facing misdemeanor charges and have since been released. All of the drivers are due back in court later this year to answer the charges.
