Maryland Man Sentenced In Violent Robbery Of Hyde Park Credit Union

HYDE PARK, N.Y. – William McKinney, 22, of Fort Washington, Md., was sentenced on Monday to 23 years in state prison for the violent kidnapping and robbery at the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union in Hyde Park, N.Y. in October, 2014, poughkeepsiejournal.com reports.

McKinney, and Victor Denny, also from Maryland, and others, kidnapped and beat a man and tried to blind him before using his car in the robbery, the article says. The two assaulted staff and pistol-whipped a teller.

McKinney was also ordered to pay $200,881.81 in restitution.
