New York State Police troopers were dispatched to a home on Route 22 in Dover on Monday following reports of a domestic dispute in progress involving two parties.

Police said that the subsequent investigation determined that 50-year-old Dover resident Jay Spock menaced his victim during the domestic dispute, while in possession of a sawed-off shotgun that was in violation of barrel length restrictions.

Spock was arrested and charged with a felony count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and menacing. He was arraigned in the Town of Dover Justice Court and released on his own recognizance. He is due back in court next month to answer the charges.
