KINDERHOOK, N.Y. -- A Hudson man was arrested and charged Monday with operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor, according to New York State Police at Troop K in Poughkeepsie.
Police responded to a Columbia County 911 call to the Cumberland Farms in the village of Valatie to a report of a possibly intoxicated driver, according to police.
Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle’s description on Route 9, said police.
The vehicle driven by 27-year-old Daniel Reutzel allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and was stopped by the observing officer, according to police.
An investigation revealed that Reutzel was allegedly impaired by drugs at the time of the stop, said police.
A state police drug recognition expert was used to evaluate Reutzel, according to police.
He was issued traffic tickets and is due in Kinderhook Town Court on Feb. 16, said police.
