After responding to the hospital to interview the 20-year-old victim, Hyde Park police went to a residence off of East Dorsey Lane, where multiple people were interviewed regarding the assault, said Lt. Robert Benson.

The investigation led to the arrest of Connor S. Hagadorn, who lives at the residence where the assault took place, police said.

According to police, the victim, who knows Hagadorn, sustained a severe head injury during the attack, including a fractured skull which required immediate surgery. The victim was struck in the head by a blunt object, Benson said.

Hagadorn was charged with felony assault and is being held on $100,000 cash or $200,000 bond. He is due to appear in court on Thursday.

The investigation is currently ongoing and being investigated by the Town of Hyde Park Police Detective Division along with the assistance of the New York State Police and the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office.
