A 25-year-old Lagrangeville man is behind bars after being involved in an incident in which two people were stabbed at a house party in Ulster County, state police said.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. Sunday, two area hospitals contacted state police reporting two subjects were being treated with stab wounds. As a result of the investigation, it was determined that a large house party had taken place on Jorge Lane in the Town of Plattekill and when the party was dispersing, a physical fight occurred resulting in injuries, according to police.

Jovan A. Wilkins was charged with assault in the first degree, a Class B felony, and arraigned in the Town of Plattekill Court before being remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of bail.

The investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information related to the incident should contact state police 845-691-2922.
