HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- The former athletic director of the Hyde Park Central School District, along with her husband, accused of stealing more than $50,000 worth of district-owned sports equipment, were recently indicted.
Amy McArdle-Rausenberger and Scott Rausenberger were indicted for second-degree grand larceny by a Dutchess County grand jury on Jan. 17, said Dutchess County Assistant District Attorney Andrea Long.
The two, who have been free on bail, were arraigned Wednesday before Dutchess County Court Judge Edward McLoughlin, where a not guilty plea was entered for them, Long added.
The Newburgh couple allegedly stole more than $50,000 worth of sporting and athletic equipment, office supplies, and other items from the district between July 2009 and August 2016, according to the indictment.
The couple was arrested in September after police found the stolen property at their Newburgh home, police said.
Police said the property was found in the couple’s home and in a detached garage where Scott Rausenberger operated a fitness company called Go Fast Get Fit.
