Dutchess Man Charged With Withdrawing Thousands From Late Mother's Account

DOVER, N.Y. — A man from Wassaic was charged with grand larceny on Friday for making cash withdrawals from his dead mother’s bank account, police said.

Christopher M. Frenyea-White, 34, was charged with the Class D felony on Feb. 12 by the New York State Police at SP Dover Plains, following an investigation that started last month.

State police had started an investigation into numerous suspicious withdrawals from a deceased person's checking account at the M&T Bank located in Amenia, NY.

The investigation determined that during 2015, Frenyea-White made several purchases and cash withdrawals from the Dover branch ATM in excess of $3,000 from his deceased mother's account.

He was released on probation to Dutchess County following arraignment in the Town of Dover Court.
