Dutchess Man Accused Of Sending 'Indecent,' 'Sexual' Emails To Teen

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - A 30-year-old man in Dutchess County is facing a felony charge for allegedly sending “indecent” emails to a teenager.

On Thursday, New York State Police in Dover announced the arrest of Amenia resident Anthony Powell, who has been charged with disseminating indecent material to minors, a felony, and a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child.

According to police, on Monday, May 8, troopers were dispatched to investigate multiple allegations that Powell had exchanged inappropriate emails with his female victim, who was under the age of 16.

Police said that the emails were “sexual in nature.”

Powell was arraigned in the Town of Dover Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond. He is due back in the Town of Amenia Court later this year.
