Beekman Fire District Putting $3.5 Million Bond On Ballot

BEEKMAN, N.Y. --The Beekman Fire District is hoping residents will approve of its plan to build a new fire training facility.

The Beekman Fire District is putting a $3.5 million bond up for a vote on Dec. 12. The fire district has been planning the facility for eight years and will be holding an informational session for voters on Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Beekman Fire House at 316 Beekman-Poughquag Road.

The facility will include a classroom, a fire training tower to simulate a two-story home and its own water source, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. The facility would be built on existing property on Green Haven Road, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.
