Zulyha Yetta Choinsky, 78, Of Rhinebeck

RHINEBECK, N.Y. -- Zulyha Yetta Choinsky, a resident of Rhinebeck, died Wednesday, April 6. She was 78.

She was born Oct.21,1937, in New York City, to Mohammed and Sadie Jamaludeen.

She spent many years in Germantown before relocating to Rhinebeck. She was well known for working as the housekeeping manager for 30 years at the Beekman Arms Inn. After her retirement, she spent many years providing assistance to the elderly within her community.

She is survived by her children Keith Choinsky of Rhinebeck, Cindy (Roger) Heuckeroth of Myrtle Beach, Paula Choinsky of Red Hook, Michael (Elizabeth) Choinsky of Red Hook and Andrea Choinsky of Rhinebeck; and her grandchildren Jeremy, Zulyha, Samantha, Nicole, Daniel and Jenna.

She was predeceased by her sister Faathyma.

A celebration of life will be conducted from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck. A time of sharing will begin at 6:15 p.m.
