Thomas Agne, 70, Of Hyde Park

HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- Thomas Agne, 70, of Hyde Park, died Sunday, Oct. 23.

He was born Nov. 23, 1945, in Yonkers, the ninth of 10 children born to Charles and Anna (Dawe) Agne. 

Agne earned a graduate degree from SUNY Albany, was an accomplished psychologist for 38 years, Sunday School teacher of 25 years and a veteran of the Vietnam War, but his proudest accomplishments were his marriage of 45 years to the love of his life and his devotion to his three children. 

He graduated from SUNY New Paltz in 1968, a location where he dated and fell in love with Louise Detjen. After a stint in the Army, which included daily love letters, he returned to marry her July 24, 1971. The two were completely inseparable since, and became proud parents in 1983. 

He is survived by his wife, Louise Agne; children: Beth Ann and Justin Saxagne, Michael and Brittany Agne and Paul Agne; sister, Karen and husband, Lenny Cammalleri; and granddaughter, Aurora Saxagne, with two more grandchildren on the way. 

Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church of Hyde Park, 1 Church St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will follow in the family plot at Union Cemetery of Hyde Park.
