Steven M. Pagano, 60, of Hyde Park

HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- Steven M. Pagano, of Hyde Park, died on Sunday, Nov. 20. He was 60.

He was born on Jan. 30, 1956 in New Rochelle. He was the son of Sabino J. Pagano and Phillis Pandoli Pagano (and companion Robert Losee).  

Pagano joined the Navy Seabees in 1973 and worked as part of a construction battalion on an island in the Indian ocean. He talked about his Navy days often and kept in touch with fellow servicemen. He was very proud of his service. He eventually became an insurance adjuster and worked at various companies throughout the next 30 years. He retired from Nationwide Insurance in 2015. He was known as a go-getter and a people person with his charismatic personality. His smile would light up a room.

On May 16, 2015 Steven married the former Sharon Brannigan Jordan. Mrs. Pagano survives at home.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Brannigan Jordan; two sons, Steven M. Pagano Jr. (and wife Kym) and Nicholas Pagano; daughter, Misti Mangel, and husband, Russell; brother, Gary Pagano (and Terri Cronk); sister, Susan Travis, and husband, Delbert. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Paula Pagano Jappen.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 23 at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park. 

Funeral services with U. S. Naval honors will be at 7 p.m. during the calling hours. Cremation will follow and his ashes will be buried in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, at a later date.
