Stanley B. Blum, 97, Of Rhinebeck

RHINEBECK, N.Y. -- Stanley B. Blum, of Rhinebeck, died Aug 4. He was 97.

He was born March 5, 1919, in Elizabeth, N.J., to Abraham and Fannie (Mondsky) Blum.

He was a former shoe industry sales executive for Oomphies Inc. and an associat with Helen Z. Battistoni Real Estate in Rhinebeck. Additionally, he spent 13 years as curator of the Jazz in July Art Exhibition at the 92nd Street Y in Manhattan. 

He is survived by his wife, June E. (Epstein ) Blum; children, Jane (Mark Reside) and Andrew (Adriana Davis); grandchildren, Jennifer (Robert), Julie and Caty; great-grandchildren, Meredith, Sean, Evan, Killian and Cedric; sisters, Billy Dolin and Lilian Simon; and many nieces and nephews. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Morton Memorial Library with anticipation of establishing a jazz collection; or Vincent Giordano (jazz historian) to continue his work preserving the history of jazz.
