Sherwood Clarence Kreig, 84, Of Hyde Park

HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- Sherwood Clarence Kreig, of Hyde Park, died Friday, March 10. He was 84.

Born on Aug. 10, 1932 in Hudson, Kreig was the son of the late Frederick and Cleora Kreig. After his discharged from the Air Force, he settled in Hyde Park and he was employed by Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation, starting as a plant technician at the Damskammer Generating Station. He subsequently moved into the electronics and telecommunications career field and retired in 1994 as a telecommunications manager at Central Hudson's Eltings Corners Facility after over thirty years of service.

In addition to his wife, Kreig is survived by one daughter and her husband, Anneliese and Robert O'Neil of Jeffersonville, four sons and their wives, Donald and Kathy Kreig of Eastampton, Robert and Jackie Kreig of Farr West, Ronald and Maureen Kreig of Cream Ridge, and Christopher and JoAnn Kreig of Plattsburgh. He was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 16 at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Route 9, Hyde Park. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 17 at the Reformed Dutch Church of Hyde Park, Route 9 in Hyde Park. Burial with military honors will follow in the family plot at Union Cemetery of Hyde Park.
