Rosemary Armstrong, 88, Of Rhinebeck

RHINEBECK, N.Y. -- Rosemary Armstrong, of Rhinebeck, died on March 3. She was 88.

Born in the Bronx on Oct. 20, 1928, Armstrong was the daughter of the late Timothy and Elizabeth (Gargan) Moriarty. She worked for AT&T and earned her Bachelor Degree at Wesleyan College. She taught elementary students with special needs after her retirement in Manchester, Vt. She enjoyed collecting art, dancing and theater. She was an avid reader and was a great fan of the author Jane Austen. 

Armstrong is survived by her brother Timothy Moriarty (Denise) and her three step-children Gary (Maureen), Francis (Lisa), and Catherine as well as seven nieces and one nephew along with many great nieces and nephews. 

Friends may call at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck on Wednesday March 8, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Good Shepherd Church on Thursday March 9, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.

Memorial donations in her honor can be made to the Baptist Home at Brookmeade, 46 Brookmeade Dr., Rhinebeck, N.Y. 12572.
