Richard Burnfeindt, 56, Of Poughkeepsie, Special Olympics Participant

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Richard J. Burfeindt, 56 of Poughkeepsie, died Saturday, March 18, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.

Burfeindt was born on December 26, 1960, in the Bronx to the late Richard John Burfeindt and Marilyn Wagner Burnfeindt who survives at home.

A local resident since 1972, Burfeindt was a graduate of BOCES and was employed for 24 years at Dutchess County ARC. He was a participant in the Special Olympics in track & field and swimming. 

He also liked to bowl and enjoyed watching the Yankees, Cowboys and the WWF on TV.

In addition to his mother, Burfeindt is survived by his brothers Craig A. Burfeindt and Eric J. (Jill) Burfeindt; sister Lynn (Steve) Burnfeindt, plus several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Richard John Burfeindt.

There will be a funeral service on at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc. 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. Burial will follow at St. Denis Cemetery, Hopewell Junction.
