Richard Allen Funk, 68, Of Hyde Park

HYDE PARK, N.J. -- Richard Allen Funk, a resident of Hyde Park, died Tuesday, April 26. He was 68.

He was born Aug.10, 1948, the son of the late Lloyd and Dolores Funk.

He graduated from Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in 1966 and went on to study at Dutchess Community College. He was an IBM manager for 25 years. After leaving IBM, he worked with his brother at J&R Contracting for several years before retiring in 2009. He was a classic car enthusiast, taking home many trophies from local car shows for his '67 and '69 Barracudas.

He is survived by his fiancée, Debbie Cole; his son, Richard Funk; his daughters, Shari Torres and her husband, Jason, and Michelle Shaw and her husband, Eric; six siblings, twin sister Patricia Dugon, Jimmy Funk and his wife, Diane, Marjorie Mozdzierz and her husband, Sandy, Wanda Green, Vicki Evans and her husband, Joe, and Robin Harbold; five grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was predeceased by one brother, Wayne Funk; and his wife, Loreen DuBois Funk.

Graveside Services and burial were Friday, April 29, in the family plot at Union Cemetery.
