Nancy M. Sessa, 74, Pleasant Valley Resident

PLEASANT VALLEY, N.Y. – Nancy M. Sessa, a lifelong resident of Pleasant Valley, died Friday, May 20. She was 74.

She was born Oct. 12, 1941, in Poughkeepsie, to the late John and Josephine Massarelli. On July 27, 1968, she married Jerry A. Sessa in Millbrook. He predeceased her Feb. 24, 2013.

She worked as a secretary at Traver Road Elementary School. She was on the PTA for many years, volunteering her time for the state and local PTA. She also volunteered with the Dorothy E. Albertson Foundation. She enjoyed going to the casinos, bowling and she was an avid reader. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jacquelyn Sessa, and Alexandra and her husband, Christopher Fattibene; grandson, Rein Douglass; great-granddaughter, Bailey Douglass; siblings, Anna DiStefano, Vincent Massarelli and Paul Massarelli; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Jerry, she was predeceased by siblings Thomas Massarrelli during World War II, John Massarelli, Fannie Anderson and Josephine “Dolly” Massarelli.

Visitation will be from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home, 3270 Franklin Ave., Millbrook. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Pleasant Valley Fire Department, P.O. Box 417, Pleasant Valley, NY 12569.
