Born Feb.1, 1921, in New York City, she was the daughter of the late James Femenella and May Hydell Femenella.
She raised four sons, volunteered for Hyde Park Tourism, enjoyed reading, solving puzzles and was quite a movie enthusiast. She also worked for Reader's Digest doing clerical work for several years.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Gise and wife, Janey, of Virginia, Keith Gise of Virginia; brother, James Femenella, of Salt Point; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Gise; parents; and two sons, Charles Gise III and Brian Gise.
Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Sweet’s Funeral Home Inc., Route 9, Hyde Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, May 20 at Regina Coeli Church, Route 9, Hyde Park. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
