RED HOOK, N.J. -- Mabel Dorothy Mergenthaler, of Red Hook, died Thursday, Nov. 10. She was 87.
Born Feb. 20, 1929, in Red Hook, she was the daughter of the late William and Lottie (Feller) Pulver.
She was predeceased by her husband, Fred Mergenthaler; son, Donald Mergenthaler; sisters, Katherine Bruggenann, Evalena Hanlon, and Jean Coons; and brothers, Arnold, Raymond and Sylvester Pulver.
She is survived by her children, Fred Mergenthaler, Robert Mergenthaler, Stephen Mergenthaler, Sarah Wentzel, Deborah Mergenthaler and Dorothy Funk; sister, Louise Breazzano; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will take place at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at United Methodist Church of Red Hook, 4 Church St., Red Hook. The Rev. Nikki Edleman will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Red Hook.
Arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes, 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook.
