Linda L. Hadden, 74, Hyde Park Resident

HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- Linda L. Hadden -- a Hyde Park resident for the past five years, formerly of Randolph, New Jersey -- died on Monday, March 14. She was 74.

Born in Poughkeepsie, Hadden graduated from Arlington High School and Hartwick College, Oneonta. A career nurse, she began working as an ICU nurse. She later as a workman's comp. visiting nurse for CNA Insurance Co., in Mendham, New Jersey, and worked her way up to supervisor of nurses. In 1987, she was named to the National Distinguished Service Registry, in recognition of her distinguished service in Medical and Vocational Rehabilitation.

Most recently, Hadden was a marketing director for Personal Mail International, in Mendham, retiring approximately five years ago. A former member of the Hilltop Presbyterian Church in Mendham, she most recently attended the Hyde Park Reformed Dutch Church, where she served as a church elder. She enjoyed playing golf, attending many classical music events and was a member of the Hartwick Alumni Association.

She is survived by her brother, Jim Hadden and his wife Cathy of Mooresville, North Carolina; nephews Michael Hadden and his wife Mari of Bethpage, and Patrick Hadden and his wife Sara of Mooresville, North Carolina; and great-nieces and -nephews Shelby, Scott, Bryce, Kris, Emma, Grace and Samantha; and several cousins, "especially Luanne Griffing of Poughkeepsie, who the family would like to thank for her loving care and support," information from the funeral home noted.

Hadden was predeceased by her parents, Russell and Elisabeth Osborne Hadden.

There are no calling hours. In keeping with Hadden's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, at the Hyde Park Reformed Dutch Church, Route 9, in Hyde Park. Rev. Dr. Donald Heringa will officiate. Interment of her ashes will follow in the Community Mausoleum, at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Sweet's Funeral Home, in Hyde Park, is assisting with arrangements.
