John Iannelli, 89, Of Hyde Park

HYDE PARK, N.Y. – John Iannnelli, a two-year resident of Hyde Park, formerly of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., died Friday, April 15. He was 89.

Born Nov. 10, 1926, in Chicago, he was the son of the late Anthony and Margaret Iannelli. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a self-employed trucking and recycling contractor in the Bronx for many years until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; his daughter, Lisa Winkler and husband Matthew, of Hyde Park; their sons, Ryan, John Quin, Declan, Cormac and Benjamin; his four other daughters, Robin, Terry, Margaret, and Angela; his brothers, Joseph and Mario; and his sister, Mary.

Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at Sweet’s Funeral Home, Inc., Route 9, Hyde Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. John Backes at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Main Street, Pleasant Valley. Burial will follow in the family plot in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
