POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Poughkeepsie native James J. Russell, 54, died on Wednesday, May 10, at his home in Highland.

A lifetime area resident who attended Spackenkill High School, Russell was born on October 24, 1962, at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie to the late James E. and Elizabeth Antalek.

Russell, who loved being with his grandchildren, also enjoyed working with his hands and was very artistic.

He is survived by three sons; James Russell (Caileigh) of Staatsburg, Curtis Russell (Katlyn) of Poughkeepsie and Timothy Russell (finance Haley) of Highland; his granddaughter Sadie Russell; three grandsons, Joshua, Brentley and Landon Russell; two sisters, Ellen Russell and Elizabeth Ann Russell both of Poughkeepsie; brother John D. Russell (Paula) of Poughkeepsie, and his niece Victoria R. Russell.
