Herbert G. Day III, 61, Formerly of Pawling

MILLERTON, N.Y. – Herbert G. Day III, a resident of Millerton, formerly of Pawling, died Sunday, July 17. He was 61.

He was born July 17, 1955, in Poughkeepsie, to Herbert G. Day Jr. and Evelyn (Silvernail) Day.

He was a graduate of Midlakes High School in Clifton Springs. On June 11,1983, he married Theresa Pentz.

He was a self-employed carpenter for many years and most recently worked for the Webutuck School District as a bus driver. He was very active for many years in the Boy Scouts of America and served as a scoutmaster for Pawling Troop 34. He was a member of the Millerton Gun Club, the Masonic Lodge and a longtime member of the Millerton Methodist Church.

He is survived by his father; his wife; four children, Jessica L. Johnson (Jason), Justin G. Day, Timothy E. Day and Cody E. Day (Jessica); four grandchildren; Adrianna and Jayce Johnson and Maggie and Klaus Day; and three sisters; Mary Elizabeth Thompson, Sally Ann Hart and Nan Ellen Herow.

There are no calling hours. Funeral services and burial will be private.
