Gaetano T. Armeno, 66, Of Hyde Park

HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- Hyde Park resident Gaetano T. Armeno died Wednesday, Jan. 6. He was 66.

Armendo proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He worked for All American Ford in Kingston as a service writer.

On Dec. 22, 1968, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Massapequa, N.Y., he married Ruth Kobel; she survives at home. 

For Armeno, family was everything and he enjoyed fishing with his grandson, Anthony. He also enjoyed gambling. 

In addition to his parents and wife, Ruth, he is survived by his son, Bill Armeno and wife, Tracey, of Hyde Park; son. Michael Armeno of Hyde Park; daughter, Dina Dietzel and husband, Brian, of Smithtown; grandchildren, Nicole, Samantha, Amber, Angelina, Sarah, Anthony and Alyssa; sister, Joanne Heller and husband, Barry, of Bordentown, N.J.; sister Stella Collier and husband, Wayne, of Hyde Park; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc, Route 9, Hyde Park.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel of St. Peter's Parish, 185 Hudson View Drive, Poughkeepsie. Burial with military honors will follow in the veteran's section in Union Cemetery in Hyde Park.
