Francis Adam VanTassell, 73, Lifelong Pleasant Valley Resident

PLEASANT VALLEY, N.Y. — Lifelong Pleasant Valley resident Francis Adam VanTassell died on Monday, April 25. He was 73.

VanTassell was the owner of B. Best Oil Co. and worked for the town of Poughkeepsie as a member of the Italian center.

He is survived by his children; Stacey VanTassell and Kelly and Todd Pectle; grandchildren Ann Marie VanTassell, Jacob Pectle, Anthony, Adam, Ashton, and Austin VanTassell; a great-granddaughter and brothers William and Patrick VanTassell.

He was predeceased by his wife Colleen, a son; Phillip VanTassell, grandson; Phillip Pectle, siblings; Margaret VanTassell, Maryann Hannaburg, and Gary VanTassell.

A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, May 4, at 4 p.m. at the Church of Christ, 112 Montgomery St., in Poughkeepsie.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 5, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home Inc., 39 S. Hamilton St., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
