Eleanor Martin, 94, Of Rhinebeck

RHINEBECK, N.Y. -- Eleanor Martin, of Rhinebeck, died Nov. 19. She was 94.

Born Jan. 14, 1922, in Albany, she was the daughter of the late William and Helen (Oliver) Ziehm.

She lived most of her life in the Hudson Valley. She loved her family, taking "girl trips" with her daughters, Hawaii and all things tropical, crafting, especially making greeting cards (until the week before she passed), cats, contrails, nature and having lattes every day with her daughter, Linda. She was a real character on many levels and will be cherished and missed forever and always.

Her husband, Edward Martin, and a brother, William Ziehm, predeceased her.

She is survived by her daughters, Pat Sinick, Linda Scherr and Wendy Varner; sons-in-law, Ken Sinick, Allan Scherr and John Varner; and granddaughters, Danielle Sinick, Katherine Scherr and Hannah Varner.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial visitation and celebration of her life, to be held on what would have been her 95th birthday, from 12:30-2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14 at the Burnett & White Funeral Home, 91 E. Market St., Rhinebeck. She will be interred at Gerald Soloman National Cemetery in Saratoga.

Arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes.
