Domenica Nardi, 68, Of Hyde Park

HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- Domenica Nardi, 68, of Hyde Park, died Sept. 7. She was 68.

She was born Aug. 28, 1948 in Carolei, Italy. 

She was an active, dedicated, and faithful Jehovah's Witness, attending the Kingdom Hall in Hyde Park for more than 35 years. In 1973, together with family, her and her husband opened R&A Restaurant in Hyde Park. In 1981, the couple opened Luigi's Pizzeria in Hyde Park and then moved it to Wappingers Falls, where they worked until retirement in 2013. After retiring, she spent time working in her sister's family's restaurant, Volare in Carmel. 

She is survived by her husband, Giuseppe Nardi; three sons and and their wives, Frank and Elizabeth Nardi, Joseph and Julie Nardi and Luigi and Sheena Nardi; grandsons, Jovani and Andreo Nardi; and brothers and sisters along with their spouses. 

A public funeral talk will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 160 Crum Elbow Road, Hyde Park. 

In lieu of flowers, plants may be sent to 14 Douglas Road, Hyde Park, where the family will be making a memorial garden in her honor.
