Daniel A. Dangerfield, 18, Of Pleasant Valley

PLEASANT VALLEY, N.Y. – Daniel A. Dangerfield, a resident of Pleasant Valley, died Tuesday, May 31. He was 18.

He was remembered as having a genuine and generous soul, along with a kind heart and sweetness with his siblings that brought them so much happiness. He enjoyed snowboarding, camping, jumping off cliffs, hiking, kayaking, riding dirt bikes and enjoying time spent with his friends.

He is survived by his parents, Krista and David Hendrickson, along with his dad, Dan Dangerfield; his brothers, Dean and Crosby Hendrickson; his maternal grandparents, Richard and Karen Haight; his paternal grandparents, David and Marjorie Dangerfield; his aunts and uncles, Dan and Cheri Scharff, David and Melissa Dangerfield, Timothy and Lauren Hendrickson, and Edward and Sandra O’Flaherty; his girls, Cassie and Tori Scharff, who were truly sisters to him; his cousins, Grace and Dave Dangerfield; SGT Nick Becker; and his best friend, Sean McHugh; along with many other family members.

He was predeceased by his buddy, Marine Corps Capt. Trevor Yurista.

Calling hours will be Sunday, June 5, from 2-6 p.m. at Allen Funeral Home in Pleasant Valley. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 7, at 11 a.m. at Innisfree Gardens in Millbrook.

In lieu of flowers, please spend a day with your children hiking, cliff jumping, camping, kayaking or doing whatever it is that they love.
