PLEASANT VALLEY, N.Y. -- Pleasant Valley resident Catherine Theresa Gallagher "Kate" Gover died Wednesday, Dec. 23. She was 88.
She was a daughter of Charles Brooks and Marion Cunningham Gallagher.
Gover worked at Wassaic State Hospital as a food service supervisor for 20 years, retiring in 1991.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Szabo of Hyde Park and Theresa MacLarion and husband, Charlie of Pleasant Valley; sons, Lawrence Gover and wife, Linda of Otego, N.Y. and Matthew Gover and wife, Cindy of Pleasant Valley; brother, Robert Gallagher of Poughkeepsie; and several grandchildren and great -grandchildren.
Gover was predeceased by her husband, Wilmer "Junie" Gover; brothers Joseph, Edward, William and James Gallagher; sister, Jean Heisler; and son-in-law, Robert Szabo.
Visiting hours will be from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Route 9, Hyde Park. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, at Sweet's Funeral Home, with the Rev. Brendan Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
