Carlton A. Robinson Sr., 82, Of Pleasant Valley

PLEASANT VALLEY, N.Y. -- Carlton A. Robinson Sr., 82, of Pleasant Valley, died Monday, Nov. 16 at the River Valley Care Center in Poughkeepsie.

Born in Poughkeepsie, Robinson was the son of the late Alfred W. and Emma L. Pride Robinson. 

A veteran of the U.S. Navy who served in the Korean War, Robinson was employed at IBM in Fishkill as a chef for 20 years and then worked for four years in the mail room. Previously, he was employed at the Fishnet Restaurant and the U.S. Post Office.

Robinson is survived by his wife Dolores J. Robinson; his son Carlton A. (Cherrie) Robinson Jr.; daughters, Brenda J. Robinson and Donna L. Robinson and companion John Rugar; brothers, Leonard Robinson and Ronald Robinson; sister Joan Zeleznik; grandchildren Jennifer and Brian, and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by his grandson Shane Robinson Rugar and two brothers and two sisters. 

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the William G. Miller & Son Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the family plot in Union Cemetery in Hyde Park with Military Honors.
