Born Sept. 21, 1933, in Poughkeepsie, the daughter of the late George and Dora Dates Cooper.
She was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School. She worked for New York Telephone, Hamilton Reproductions, K-Mart, and was a co-owner of Hanson's Tavern.
She is survived by her four sons, Robert, Andrew, Alan and Brian Hanson; two daughters, April Cromwell and Tammy Hanson; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Hanson; son, John Paul Hanson; companion, Arthur Powers; brothers, George and Jack Cooper; and sister, Jean Smith.
Calling hours will be from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday at Sweet's Funeral Home, Route 9, Hyde Park. A brief memorial service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. during the calling hours. Interment will be at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
