RHINEBECK, N.Y. -- Anthony F. Gentile, 37, of Rhinebeck, died Oct. 6.
He was born June 13, 1979, in White Plains.
He graduated from Somers High School in 1997 and from Johnson & Wales University, with a degree in criminal justice. He joined the New York State Police Jan. 7, 2002, and was promoted to the rank of sergeant Sept. 16, 2010. He was posthumously appointed to the rank of sergeant/station commander of Troop K in Rhinebeck, where he had been serving since 2014.
He was an avid New York Yankees fan and a dedicated season ticket holder of the New York Jets.
He is survived by his wife, Chelsea; two daughters, McKinley and Kyla; father, James; stepmother, Jane; grandmother, Mary Gentile; and sister, Kathryn Gentile.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Burnett & White Funeral Home, 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Church of the Good Shepherd, 3 Mulberry St., Rhinebeck. The Fr. Douglas Y. Crawford will officiate. Burial will be at Rhinebeck Cemetery.
