The Church of the Immaculate Conception and the chapel of Saint Joseph are both being "deconsecrated,"- meaning they will be transferred from sacred use to secular use. The two churches are part of a merged parish, the Saint Joseph Immaculate Conception in Millbrook.

The fate of the property will be decided by the parish, which owns the property, in consultation with the archdiocese, said Joe Zwilling, Director of Communications, Archdiocese of New York. There have been no decisions about what will happen with the property and buildings, Zwilling said.

The parish church of Saint Joseph will remain and will provide for the pastoral and spiritual care of the people, Zwilling said.
