NEW PALTZ, N. Y. -- New Paltz town police are alerting the public that one person was stung, so far, after crates of bees were dropped off by mistake at Apple Hill Farm Stand, the Poughkeepsie Journal reports.

Alerts went out by police and State University of New York at New Paltz after a 10:20 a.m. Thursday report of a bee sting. The crates were left in front of the farm stand on Route 32, and people are being encouraged to be careful in the area, the Poughkeepsie Journal says.
