The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert on Tuesday to Dutchess County residents regarding the residency of 28-year-old Jason Pavelock, who has moved into the Hillcrest House in Poughkeepsie.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Pavelock as a Level 2 threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Pavelock was caught last year and charged with possessing a sexual performance by a child under the age of 16. He was arrested through the New York State Police Violent Crime Analysis Program and sentenced to 10 years probation and time served in a local jail after being convicted in March. Pavelock is now under the jurisdiction of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, and must comply with his probation restrictions and the Sex Offender Registration Act. He is eligible for post-release supervision in November 2026.
