DUTCHESS COUNTY, N. Y. -- A 48-year-old Pleasant Valley man is facing a murder charge after he was accused of killing his mother then dumping her body in South Carolina, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.
Charles Cole is being held at Dutchess County Jail after his arraignment Monday on second-degree murder and tampering with evidence. Dutchess County prosecutors say he strangled his 76-year-old mother Aug. 16 in a Pleasant Valley motel where they lived, the Poughkeepsie Journal says.
Prosecutors also say he kept her body in a plastic bin for about two months before taking it to South Carolina, the Poughkeepsie Journal reports.
