Pleasant Valley Festival Draws More Than 300 Residents

PLEASANT VALLEY, N.Y. -- More than 300 residents took part in Pleasant Valley’s inaugural Festival of Lights celebration, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.

Events included a tree lighting at the Mill Site, the parade of floats and decorated trucks down Main Street to town hall, where hot chocolate and cookies were served, added the newspaper. 

Former Supervisor Penny Hickman read “The Night Before Christmas” to the children gathered at her feet and Santa arrived on a horse-drawn carriage with candy canes and coloring books for the children, said the Poughkeepsie Journal. 

The event was organization by Pleasant Valley Recreation Director Sandy Coe and her volunteers.
