Man Accused Of Stealing From Millbrook Client Is No-Show In Court

A 50-year-old Orange  County man who is charged with stealing thousands from a Millbrook client was nabbed by New York State Police for being a no-show for several court dates.

Max N. Sandmeier of Newburgh was charged last week with felony bail jumping, said NYSP spokesman AJ Hicks.

Sandmeier, an accountant was originally charged in March with when he was charged with multiple felonies in March for ripping off the client for more than $40,000 worth of stocks, state police said.

Following his arrest, Sandmeier pleaded guilty to third-degree grand larceny and then failed to appear for court dates, Hicks said.

Hicks said Sandmeier turned himself in for the bail jumping charge.

He was arraigned in the Town of Washington Court and is being held in the Dutchess County Jail on $20,000 bail or $40,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 26.
