Town officials said the project aims lay sidewalks and crosswalks along Route 9 to give the road a "Main Street" feel and to create a green buffer on the road's east side between Water Tower Road and Park Plaza, according to the Journal.

The town had previously been awarded a $679,000 transportation grant for the project, which was developed with assistance from the state Department of Transportation, according to the Journal.

Monday's meeting is to feature presentations on the project along with a brief question/answer session by town leaders and engineers, according to the Journal. For more information, call Town Supervisor Aileen Rohr at 845-229-5111.
