Emergency Response Training Offered For Dutchess Residents

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Residents interested in learning about emergency preparedness will have a chance to do just that during the next citizen training program on Tuesday, Sept. 26.

The Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response will host the class 7 to 9 p.m. at the American Legion Post 1949, 1797 Route 22 in the Town of Dover. 

The two-hour session is designed to provide participants with the tools and resources to better prepare for any type of disaster. Participants will learn how to respond accordingly in a disaster and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. 

The event is free to attend. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Each family will receive a free Citizen Preparedness Corps Response Starter Kit. 

Dutchess County’s Medical Reserve Corps and the Dutchess County Animal Response Team will be present as part of the training.
